    Types of Gynecomastia

There are 3 different types of gynecomastia as glandular, lipomatous and mixed type. The type seen with the growth of breast tissue is called glandular type. In this type, the breast looks similar to the female breast tissue. The type formed by the increase in fat tissue is called the lipomatous type, as the name suggests.

The type that occurs as a result of an increase in breast tissue and adipose tissue is called the mixed type. Most of our patients who present with gynecomastia are usually treated with the diagnosis of mixed type.

After diagnosis, treatment is planned. It is divided into 3 groups according to the size of the breast and the size of the sagging on the skin. The gynecomastia problem is treated with methods suitable for the group it belongs to.

    Types of Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is divided into 3 groups according to the size ratio in the breast and the abundance it creates in the skin.

    • 1st Degree Gynecomastia
    • 2nd Degree Gynecomastia
    • 3rd Degree Gynecomastia

In the 1st degree gynecomastia group, there is no sagging because there is no excess skin and there is very little growth in the chest.

In the 2nd degree gynecomastia, the amount of growth in the breast is high and the breast looks like a female breast. There is excess skin, but there is no sagging of the skin in this group.

In the 3rd degree gynecomastia group, the growth rate of the chest is very high and skin sagging is seen alongside the excess skin.

    Causes of Gynecomastia

It occurs in the elderly, adolescents and infants with an increase in the level of estrogen hormone for various reasons. Gynecomastia, which develops with hormonal disorder, is treated with the help of an endocrinology specialist.

    Surgical Methods

Surgical methods are performed under general anesthesia in an operating room by our specialist doctors. With the treatment methods determined by our expert plastic surgeons according to the patient’s condition, you can get rid of gynecomastia permanently.

In addition to fat and mammary gland removal, excess skin on the breast tissue is also applied to our patients with extremely large and sagging breasts. The nipples are reduced to an appropriate extent. In this way, a non-pronounced rib cage and a flat breast appearance are obtained.

    Gynecomastia Surgery Techniques

Gynecomastia surgeries vary according to breast size and causes of formation. In the operations of patients with enlarged breasts, skin abundance and sagging skin, the operation is performed by combining several different surgical techniques.

    Scarless Gynecomastia Operation

We perform gynecomastia operation without a trace in patients in the 1st degree gynecomastia group and the 2nd degree gynecomastia group. Fat tissue is dissolved with the liposuction method without incision and removed with micro-entries. With this operation, bruising, swelling and scars do not occur.

    Recovery Process After Gynecomastia Surgery

After the operation, our patients can eat and stand up within 3 hours. They are discharged after 3 hours. The operation usually takes 1-2 hours. There is no pain during the operation. After the operation, a chest corset is put on the patient. It is recommended that the patient wear a chest corset for 3 weeks after the operation. After the 3rd week, the patient is advised to use only a chest corset while doing heavy work until the 6th week. If there is bruising and swelling after the surgery, it will improve within 3 weeks.
